Saw this guy in Tramo yesterday afternoon.
I think the plate number is ZBL-558.

Saw this car on EDSA Northbound at around 1:49pm.

Since I started driving again, I was surprised to see that the use of tinted plate covers have gone down tremendously. Pero meron pa rin konting matitigas ang ulo, kagaya nito'ng Hyundai Starex.
This was taken around 2:49pm, heading northbound on EDSA right beside the Ortigas MRT station.

One of the darkest plate covers I've seen. Couldn't even make the plate number come out via Photoshop.
Anyway, this was taken in Ayala Alabang at around 9:48am.

Here's another one. This Lancer, with plate number UHY 480, was seen on Commerce Ave. in Alabang at around 2:20pm.

Saw this Urvan on EDSA at around 7:28pm. Instead of using a tinted plate cover, he put green cellophane inside his clear plate cover so that it can be color coordinated with his van. Although you can't see it on the pic, I think the plate number was XKT 188.
Magaling s'ya!

Saw this Suzuki Swift going northbound on EDSA at around 5:48pm.
Well, at least his front plate wasn't covered.

Thursday, April 27, 2006

Here's a Civic with really dark tinted plate covers. I think the plate number is ZAF730.

Tuesday, April 11, 2006

This Hi-Ace, seen going southbound on SLEX at around 9:09am, had one of the darkest plate covers we have ever seen.
Even the harshest tweaks on Photoshop couldn't make the plate number come out.

Saw this Honda Jazz (BCS 824) using tinted plate covers on EDSA, going northbound, at around 10:34am.
Since the UVVRP has been suspended, hindi na kelangan nito. Unless, of course, he goes to Makati.

It must be tinted plate cover day!

The first one was a Mini Pajero (BDA 779) that was seen on N. Domingo at 1:48pm.
The second was a dressed-up Lancer, sporting a KAI Racing decal on the front windshield, seen at Araneta leading towards E. Rodriguez at 1:55pm. This one also had some sort of decal on the front and rear plate covers, covering part of the plate number. All that could be distinguised now are the first letter (U) and the last two numbers (27).
The third one is a Corolla (UMR 783) seen at Banawe at 2:04pm. At least, his rear plate wasn't covered, although for purposes of avoiding being caught on his coding day, this is good enough.
The last one is a Nissan van (TWS 610) seen southbound on SLEX. This one had the darkest set of covers I have ever seen, and he had these on both the front and rear plates. Not only that, nag-counter flow pa s'ya when turning left towards Zobel-Roxas.
Ano 'kala n'ya, taga-gobyerno s'ya?

And just when I thought that people were wising up and replacing their tinted plate covers, another one is spotted on the road.
This Honda City (ZAC 484, I think) was seen on EDSA heading towards Makati at around 8:57pm tonight.

Hello! Magising ka naman sana! Bawal po 'yan!

Saw this Kia Carnival lining up to pick up some kids at the OB Montessori in Greenhills.
Because of the green tint of the plate cover, you couldn't really tell if this was a blue plate. But blue plates usually just have 4 or 5 numbers, while this one had 6.

Anyway, imagine our surprise when we glanced at the front license plate and saw a totally different plate number (RMI 888). Unfortunately, we weren't able to get a picture of it.

Seems like the use of heavily tinted plate covers are becoming more and more popular. Been seeing a whole lot of them lately. Like this Vios seen on EDSA northbound this afternoon.
Alam kaya ng mga enforcers na bawal 'to?

Saturday, March 11, 2006

Saw this modified Lancer on SLEX early this afternoon. Tinted plates again, both in the rear and the front. Tsk, tsk.

Friday, March 10, 2006

There's a thread on the MMDA forum regarding this, and the site administrator (user mmdapublicaffars) has posted a reply saying "BAWAL ang tinted and tampered plate numbers". Now, if there's just some way we can get them to do a public announcement.

Anyway, click here to jump to the thread.

Just look at this CR-V seen heading towards SLEX on C5 earlier this afternoon. Tinted na nga yung kanyang rear plate, commemorative pa yung sa harap!
Sobrang dilim na nga yung plate cover, highly reflective pa. Anyway, here's a clearer picture of his rear license plate.
As for commemorative plates, which ones are still considered valid? I've seen those that say Councilor or Mayor. Meron pa nga'ng Lawyer. There are PNP TMG plates, SEA Games plates. Could the LTO just start issuing or publishing the list of allowed ones? Better yet, why not just disallow these and just start issuing real vanity plates? That should give the LTO extra income, considering the Filipino's penchant for cars.

Here's another vehicle with a tinted plate cover.
Had to play around with Photoshop to really bring out the details of his license plate.

Tuesday, February 07, 2006

Here are pics of two Civics seen on C5 with tinted plate covers.

Thursday, February 02, 2006

Here's another vehicle with an unreadable license plate.
At least, he didn't have a plate cover in front.
