Huli ka!

Shell, Petron, Chevron (Caltex) and UniOil have all announced a P2.00 rollback for fuel prices, effective 12:01am on Friday, September 12. Is this in response to government pressure to explain why fuel prices are not going down at the same rate that they went up in relation to world oil prices? Anyway, read the article from PDI here.

Unfortunately, FEJODAP, or the Federation of Jeepney Operators and Drivers Association of the Philippines, have announced that they will only rollback jeepney fares when diesel prices go back to P37 per liter. With the latest rollback, diesel pump prices would be around P52 per liter.

I guess it's a universal rule that jeeps load and unload passengers right beside the No Loading and Unloading signs.
This was taken on Civic Drive, in front of the Asian Hospital and Medical Center at Filinvest Corporate City.

Not only is it a jeepney stop, it's also a major pedestrian crossing.
I wonder when the MMDA will do something about this? May outpost naman sila d'un sa harap nito'ng lugar na 'to.

Saw this jeep waiting on Aurora at around 2:42pm, right beside the small strip of sidewalk separating those turning left from Nagtahan to Aurora.
This guy must have been stopped for at least 3 minutes. And there were PNP guys just across the intersection. Maybe the effort of crossing the intersection is too much for them. Baka lumiit daw yung waistline nila. Sayang naman daw at kay tagal-tagal nila'ng pinalaki y'un.

No wonder it's always traffic on weekday mornings on Pasong Tamo leading towards EDSA. The jeeps are blocking everyone!
And, since they use the ground-level u-turn road to turn around, they end up blocking all the vehicles on Pasong Tamo on both sides of EDSA.

Palagi naman may mga MMDA enforcers dito. Ba't wala sila'ng ginagawa?

Reminds me of that incident on Ayala Ave. a couple of weeks ago.

Notice the AUV (can you call it that?) and it's plate number.

Saw this jeep going southbound on SLEX at around 8:39 this morning.
Too bad the shot of the front plate isn't clear enough.

Here's another regular occurrence in the metro. Saw this jeep run the red light on Ramon Magsaysay-Old Sta. Mesa intersection.
It may not be a full intersection, but there's stil a stoplight.

Just look at this MMDA enforcer. Naka-hinto na nga yung jeepney sa likod n'ya, wala naman s'yang ginagawa.
Hoy manong! Baka hindi mo alam, bawal po'ng huminto d'yan sa lugar na 'yan!

Dang these jeeps!
You can easily see the traffic building up behind them while they unceremoniously load and unload their passengers right on the corner. In fact, they consistently block those crossing the intersection, both for vehicles heading north on EDSA and those coming from Crame.

Instead of staying under the flyover, the numerous MMDA enforcers stationed here should stand on this corner and prevent these jeepneys from stopping here.

And to think na palaging madaming enforcers d'yan sa intersection na 'yan!

Anyway, the jeep was blocking the intersection. Funny though, the cop wasn't doing anything about the multitude of bikes doing the exact same thing the jeep was doing.

The biggest reason for the terrible traffic on the west service road of the SLEX is the jeepney loading and unloading area in front of Astra-Zeneca.
Jeepneys park on both sides of the road loading and unloading passengers, leaving a small gap in the middle barely big enough for a car to get through. Hope they do something about this so that the service road can become a good alternative to SLEX traffic.

Caught this driver of a jeepney smoking while on the road.
Just like any other traffic law and regulation, the police, MMDA and the local government has again forgotten all about this, as I've been seeing smoking in PUVs more these days.

This time, it's at the foot of the Nagtahan bridge on Aurora Boulevard.
Not only do the jeeps stop at the foot of the two-lane bridge, blocking traffic, they also swerve immediately to the right of the road once they get past the island to pick up other passengers waiting on the sidewalk, blocking those coming from the ground level intersection. Wala na ba talagang magawa ang mga traffic enforcers sa mga ganitong bagay?

This jeep was seen waiting for passengers right before the Pasong Tamo tunnel underneath the Magallanes flyover at EDSA this morning at 9:35am.
The jeep was more or less blocking cars going to EDSA from the u-turn road. Anyway, this used to happen quite a lot here. But giving the traffic enforcers credit, this is more of the exception now, rather than the rule.

These pics show a Honda CR-V and a passenger jeep running the red light on the Sucat Road-President's Ave. intersection this morning at 8:51am.
Unfortunately, the plate number of the CR-V wasn't too clear, but it looked like it ended with 445. The jeepney's plate number is PHS 128.

I guess patience is not a Filipino virtue.

Tapos, nagbababa ng pasahero e may waiting shed at babaan naman after the stop light. This is causing traffic! Delikado pa sa pasaherong bumababa kasi baka masagasaan sila! Walang sumisita na traffic aid at walang MMDA.
