The lines marking pedestrian lanes is something that is completely ignored by Filipino drivers, with very little exception. These pics, taken at the Dona Julia Vargas-Rodrigues Lanuza intersection last night at around 6:31pm, clearly illustrates this.
When you take into account the fact that bikes zoom between the waiting cars to move to the front, it gets pretty darn dangerous for pedestrians. I can just imagine how many injuries, or even deaths, have been caused by motorists ignoring the lines.
