Saw these PNP guys counter-flowing on SLEX towards Quirino at around 2:56pm today. Must have been a major operation as there was a large truck full of cops and a number of scooters.
Hehehe. Scooters. Ang cheap naman nila!

It must be tinted plate cover day!
The first one was a Mini Pajero (BDA 779) that was seen on N. Domingo at 1:48pm.
The second was a dressed-up Lancer, sporting a KAI Racing decal on the front windshield, seen at Araneta leading towards E. Rodriguez at 1:55pm. This one also had some sort of decal on the front and rear plate covers, covering part of the plate number. All that could be distinguised now are the first letter (U) and the last two numbers (27).
The third one is a Corolla (UMR 783) seen at Banawe at 2:04pm. At least, his rear plate wasn't covered, although for purposes of avoiding being caught on his coding day, this is good enough.
The last one is a Nissan van (TWS 610) seen southbound on SLEX. This one had the darkest set of covers I have ever seen, and he had these on both the front and rear plates. Not only that, nag-counter flow pa s'ya when turning left towards Zobel-Roxas.

Ano 'kala n'ya, taga-gobyerno s'ya?

Saw this Nissan Patrol with two motorcycle-riding cops as escorts sporting blinkers on Shaw, heading towards EDSA. Nag-counter flow pa!
I wonder who this guy is, thinking that he is high and mighty enough to ignore the law? Hindi kaya s'ya nahihiya sa ginagawa n'yang 'to?

Saw this Toyota Crown doing the counterflow on UN in front of Malacanang Park this morning. Dere-deretso lang s'ya talaga, walang pake sa oncoming traffic.
On a side note, natawa lang talaga ako sa Civic na 'to, at color-coordinated pa yung kanyang 8 plate.

It was so traffic on Wilson, and these guys aren't helping any!
Especially, the first one! Mahiya ka naman!
Anyway, it was all caused by the cars parked in front of DEC, probably because people were buying stuff in preparation for the Chinese New Year celebration.
The irritating thing about it was there were a couple of cops and a number of security guards already trying to get these guys to move, park properly and manage the rest of the traffic, but they were powerless. Either they didn't know how to manage the situation, or they didn't really want to do anything about it.
Argh!

Saw this Pajero on Dona Soledad in Better Living at around 6:02pm.
Aside from sporting blue-and-red blinkers inside his front grill, he actually was trying to start a counter-flow, despite the fact that there were already cars going the other way on the lane he was trying to transfer to. Tapos, siya pa ang galit! Ang kapal talaga!

Here's another government vehicle (I have no idea what kind of vehicle this is but the plate number is SGZ 299) abusing the law of the road. This was taken at Susano Rd. at around 9:59am.

Every now and then, the PNCC (or whatever they're called now) allows the northbound vehicles to occupy the innermost lane of the southbound side of the South Super Highway (seen on this pic taken this morning).
Anyway, I understand where they're coming from. The problem is, this causes major congestion southbound, with traffic beginning to pile up from the C5 overpass (although, this time, it started when the yellow lane marker started). We have three lanes from the regular highway, joined by vehicles entering from the Bicutan toll plaza, converging into two lanes, which quickly becomes a single lane.
Maybe what they should do is to only allow the conterflow 'til around 7:30am or so, since the people travelling southbound are more likely to travel at a later time than those going into the metro.

One of the things that really show how inconsiderate Filipino drivers are is the counterflow. The fact that the driver does not care if he blocks the cars going the other way just so that he can get ahead of everyone else is just so, so, so...well, what can i say?
Don't get me wrong. The counterflow can be an effective tool to reduce traffic if properly managed by well-trained traffic enforcers. But most of the time, it's something that the drivers initiate, which leads to more traffic.
Here's a pic that shows what I mean. This was taken at the road beside St. Paul's in Pasig, going up to Meralco Ave, last Friday, September 23, at around 7:31pm.
This is a 4-lane road so taking up one more shouldn't really have been a problem, even if it is technically illegal to do so. But these guys didn't just take up the one lane. They were straddling between two lanes going the other way, preparing to take up the fourth one in case the opportunity opens. This was further aggravated by the fact that there were cars parked on both sides of the road.
Like I always say, the song Magkaisa should really be changed to Makaisa.
